2025 Election Coverage

Roughly 20% of Idaho voters went to the polls to decide local elections and ballots measures, including school funding, the foothills levy and key races in Boise and Caldwell.

Boise City Council incumbents kept their seats and an open-space levy gets overwhelming support in the capital city. Boise State Public Radio rounds up the 2025 Idaho election results.

This coming Tuesday, District 6 residents in Boise will be voting for a new city council member in a race that has garnered a lot of attention. Voters in the North End and northwest will choose between incumbent Jimmy Hallyburton, former council member Lisa Sánchez and newcomer Lynn Bradescu.

On Nov. 4, every Boise voter will get to weigh in on whether to continue the decades-long legacy of preserving open space in the city through a third levy.

“This seems to be as much a referendum on short-term rentals as it is an issue about a recreation center.”

“While everyone may not have a city council race in Boise, there is a really important levy on the ballot for everyone to vote on.”

Election officials say the renovations are meant to show radical transparency to citizens about the entire election process.
