Although he doesn’t have exact attendance numbers yet, festival director Eric Gilbert says the event grew again. Last year, 17,000 people attended Treefort.
“It felt like a lot more people [attended] from out of town," says Gilbert, "that were blown away by both Boise and the festival.”
Gilbert says he’s happy with how the festival went, even with unexpected surprises like power outages at venues, travel issues with artists and snow and rain.
“And there were curveballs thrown to us but the whole team – and not just the team but the community and the bands and everybody just seemed willing to hit the curveballs and just roll with it.”
This morning, festival organizers are tearing down the outdoor stage and packing up each and every Treefort decoration – at least until next year.
