Mother And Children's Identities Relased In Lucky Peak Crash

Ada County Sheriff's Office

The Ada County Coroner's Office says the three children killed in a crash into Lucky Peak Reservoir Thursday morning died of a combination of blunt force trauma and drowning.

The office released the identities of the four victims Friday morning. The dead are 40 year-old Noel J. Voermans, 13-year-old Anika Noel Voermans, 11-year-old Logan R. Voermans and 8-year-old Gwyneth G. Voermans.

The children's official cause of death is listed as drowning associated with blunt force trauma. The coroner's office says it's likely the children were knocked unconscious by their SUV's collision with the water and then drowned. Their mother's cause of death is listed as drowning.

The four died around 7 Thursday morning after their vehicle entered the water below a cliff located just north of the Highway 21 bridge. The Ada County Sheriff's Office says there were no skid marks in the area where the vehicle approached the cliff. Pictures from the scene show the SUV's roof was crushed by the impact with the water.
