In public opinion surveys, Idahoans consistently rank education as one of the most critical issues facing the state and its long-term health. Education is Idaho's top spending priority, accounting for more than 60 percent of the state's general fund budget.
Idaho's next governor will be judged, to large measure, on education policy.
In that spirit, the City Club of Boise invited the five leading Republican and Democratic gubernatorial candidates to take part in a bipartisan discussion of education topics. A.J. Balukoff and Paulette Jordan accepted the City Club's invitation.
Join us on April 16 for a discussion of Idaho's future. While the forum will emphasize education policy — from early childhood through college — audience members are encouraged to come with questions on all topics.
