City Club Of Boise: Marilyn Shuler Human Rights Initiative

Last February, City Club lost a beloved and active former member of the board, Marilyn Shuler. Marilyn gave a posthumous gift to the School of Public Service at Boise State University to create a Human Rights Initiative.

Dean Corey Cook forged the idea of creating a campus-based mechanism to help foster human rights education, unity, and effective advocacy skills among student and community members --something Marilyn did every day.

Boise State Professor Jill Gill is the director of the newly created Shuler Initiative. She will provide the City Club audience with an overview of the initiative, which includes an academic certificate program in Human Rights Education and Advocacy.

Chair: Julia Robinson, DPA

Moderator: Marcia Franklin
