Update Wednesday 12:50 p.m.: Bogus Basin officials have announced plans for a partial opening Friday through the end of the weekend.
"Coach and Deer Point lifts will be open for skiing and snowboarding with a Terrain Park at Stewarts Bowl. Nordic Skiing is open on portions of the upper trails at the Nordic Center. The Simplot Lodge will have food and beverage services. The Pioneer Lodge will only be open for bathrooms and lockers. Mountain hours of operation will be 10:00 am to 4:30 pm on Friday and 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Night skiing will not be offered and public transportation to the mountain will not be running. Because mountain access will be limited, the adult ticket price will be reduced to $35. Children under the age of twelve cost $20. Season Passes will be accepted for lift access. The Nordic Center will also have reduced rates. The Black Diamond Sports retail and rental shops will also be open for any sales and equipment needs and the Ski and Snowboarding School will be open for walk-in lessons. The nonprofit ski mountain north of Boise will open only on weekends until managers determine there is enough snow to open on weekdays as well.
Original post: We don’t know yet if Bogus Basin ski resort will open this weekend. Managers of the nonprofit ski hill above Boise had planned to announce that Tuesday afternoon, but now say they want to wait and see how much snow comes from the storm expected to move in overnight. The announcement may happen Wednesday.
Bogus Basin marketing director John Hart says more than likely the tubing hill will open Friday. He says the best case scenario is that a couple of ski runs will open Friday as well.
Bogus’s website reports a base depth of 13 inches Tuesday afternoon. National Weather Service meteorologists say the mountain could get four to six inches between Tuesday night and Thanksgiving.
