On Tuesday, the Nampa community voted to pass a $14.7 million levy to fund programming and staff at the school District for the next two years.

Voters will see two issues on the ballot November 7th: one would create a new county-wide EMS district, and separately, the $4 million dollar tax override levy to pay for it. County officials and first responders say the area has outgrown its existing EMS structure and funding.

This week 33 out of 44 Idaho counties held elections to raise taxes for schools, sewers and libraries. Not all of them were successful, including the failure of the $500 million West Ada school levy. This week’s vote comes after the Idaho legislature made changes to when schools can hold bond and levy elections.
