Dozens of Jewish community members gathered outside Meridian city hall Wednesday evening for a final festive night of Chanukah.

On Thursday, Dec. 7, Jews across the world will be celebrating the first day of Hanukkah. Rabbi Dan Fink of the Ahavath Beth Israel congregation in Boise shared what the festivities mean to the Jewish community around the world and right here in Idaho.

In 2021 antisemitism peaked, increasing 34% from previous years, reaching an all time high. Instead of intimidating the Jewish community though it's brought them closer together, at least here in Idaho.
