Former Idaho Elected Officials Make Renewed Call For Civility During Pandemic

National Institute for Civil Discourse

We’ve had several stories on Idaho Matters about people and organizations that have become everyday heroes during the coronavirus pandemic. But as some people have come together, others seek to divide — or profit — on the crisis.

From stimulus check scams to price gouging for critical medical equipment, to political attacks, many are seeking to exploit this tragic time.

The chairs of the Idaho Working Group for the National Institute of Civil Discourse have come out with an op-ed, asking people to remember how important civil discourse and virtues are in this time.

Joining Idaho Matters to talk more about this are former Gov. Butch Otter, former congressman Walt Minnick, and Idaho journalist Bill Manny.
