Here's How Idaho's First Online Education Ballot Initiative Is Going

Boise State Public Radio

After two federal courts sided with an effort to secure online signatures for a ballot initiative, organizers with Reclaim Idaho went into overdrive to meet their August deadline.

The group’s goal is to increase the taxes of high earners to pump more money into the state’s public education system. Idaho is one of just a few states with an online signature gathering campaign that was approved because of disruptions from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the state has not given up their legal fight to block the effort, asking the Supreme Court to stop the process. It's not yet clear whether SCOTUS will respond in time.

Luke Mayville of Reclaim Idaho joins Idaho Matters live to tell us how Idaho's first online ballot campaign is going.
