President Donald Trump arrives to speak at a rally Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington.

After a mob of extremists took over and ransacked the U.S. Capitol Building Wednesay, Democrats in Congress are calling for President Trump to be removed from office. But with less than two weeks left in his term, what legal mechanisms can be used and how likely is his removal?

University of Idaho law professor Shaakirrah Sanders tells Idaho Matters how and when the 25th Amendment can be invoked, and considers the question of impeachment and removal of Trump. We also learn from Sanders about the legal definition of sedition and treason and how they can be applied to the events of January 6.
