Join the Chalk Art Competition at Indian Creek Festival!
Celebrate community, creativity, and color at this year’s Indian Creek Festival with our annual sidewalk chalk competition! The 2026 theme is “Once Upon a Sidewalk”. Interpret it your way and show off your artistic flair.
This event is open to all ages, with prize categories for Child (5–8), Youth (9–12), Teen (13–18) Adult (19+), and Team entries. There’s also a non-competitive space just for little artists under 6.
Not the chalking type? You can still take part by voting for the People’s Choice Award between 1 PM and 8 PM on competition day. Your vote could help someone win $100!
This event is part of Indian Creek Festival but is produced by Caldwell Fine Arts
ARTISTS NEEDED. Create colorful designs to the theme “Once Upon a Sidewalk”, categories for all ages, including a non competitive category for ages 6 and under.

Entrants are supplied at the Caldwell Fine Arts booth with basic chalk, but are welcome to bring their own chalk including spray chalk, masking tape, brushes, and water. Pillows, blankets, cardboard for sitting or kneeling is recommended.

**Eagle Plein Air Festival****October 3–10, 2026 | Eagle, Idaho**
Experience Idaho through the eyes of more than 80 artists during the 12th Annual Eagle Plein Air Festival. For one exciting week, artists will paint outdoors throughout Eagle, Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley, capturing the beauty and character of Southwest Idaho.
The community is invited to watch artists paint, meet the painters, enjoy **free demonstrations and lessons**, and experience the excitement of the **Quick Draw Challenge** in downtown Eagle. Visitors can also explore the **Nocturnal Paint Outs** and discover artists working in unexpected locations.
The week culminates with an **Awards Reception & Art Showcase** and the **Festival Show & Sale**, where visitors can view and purchase original paintings created during the festival.
Whether you're an artist, art lover, collector or simply curious, the Eagle Plein Air Festival is a wonderful way to experience **art, adventure and community** in Eagle.
