Chad Daybell's murder trial has begun. Follow along here.

On The Tuesday, November 13, 2018 Edition Of Idaho Matters

  • Idaho students' reading scores drop.
  • How to get that kitchen table food concept to store shelves.
  • Death Cafe makes uncomfortably morbid discussion comfortable.

- The State Department of Education released the results of this fall's reading scores. The results are not positive. We will talk with Idaho Education News reporter Kevin Richert about why this year's reading numbers are below last year's.

- Everybody has made a batch of cookies or brownies and thought "These are really good ... people would buy these." On Tuesday's Idaho Matters, we will discuss the path from foodie daydreams to marketable product with Albertsonsand the University of Idaho's Food Technology Center.

- Death Cafe takes the discussion of dying out of the zone of discomfort and makes it something socially palatable. The focus isn't on grief counseling — it's more about having honest discussions about buying the farm "with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives."

- Thirty-nine ballots sent into the Canyon County Elections Office by overseas citizens and military personnel were not counted. The Idaho Press' Nicole Foy covered this oversight and joins Idaho Matters to discuss the discrepancy.
