Katherine Jones/Idaho Statesman
A bond request that would have raised $187 million for a new jail in Canyon County was voted down on Tuesday.

Host Gemma Gaudette leads a round table discussion of the week's headlines with the region's top journalists. This week, George Prentice discusses the Boise Weekly’s deep dive into the problems the state is having in working with private out-of-state prisons. Idaho Public Television’s Bill Manny breaks down Canyon County’s failed jail bond measure and updates us on Ada County's case against a Colorado hemp cultivator and the shippers caught transporting the industrial product. Rebecca Boone from the Associated Press explains the necessity of using Freedom of Information Act requests for journalists and cautions of a manhunt for a highway killer in Idaho.
