In the wake of the Central District Health Department's order to pull Ada County back to Stage 3 restrictions due to a recent eruption of COVID-19 cases, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean issued a separate public health orderfor the City of Boise, intended to remain in effect for at least 30 days.

Our Morning Edition host George Prentice talked with Mayor McLean about the details of the citywide order, what it might take for her to issue a mandatory face-covering rule as well as what the 4th of July will look like with no fireworks.

As COVID-19 cases spread through the U.S. and Idaho, we’re committed to keeping you updated and informed. You can get updated info on cases, closures and how to stay healthy at any time on our Coronavirus news blog.
