Pope Francis died on Monday at the age of 88. He had been battling pneumonia for a while, and the Vatican reports he passed from a stroke and heart failure.

He was last seen on Easter Sunday when he made an appearance in Rome. Idaho Catholics have been in mourning since he passed.

Deacon Scott Pearhill is the director of communications at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise, and he joined Idaho Matters to talk more.
