Two Republican state lawmakers sent letters of support for one of their former colleagues convicted of raping a teenage legislative intern prior to his sentencing late last month.

Aaron von Ehlinger, the former Republican state representative from Lewiston, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with a minimum of eight years incarcerated after a jury convicted him earlier this spring of raping a teenage legislative intern.
