The Intercultural Living Library is a free event facilitated by Intercultural Communication students as a Service-Learning class project. It takes place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in the Student Union Building - Jordan Ballroom at Boise State University and is open to the public from 5:00pm-7:00pm, ages 12+.
What is an Intercultural Living Library? A place where 'Books' are people who share their stories and attendees are 'Readers' who listen and ask questions. It is a nonjudgmental place where individuals learn about other cultures and various lived experiences. The volunteer 'Books' are individuals from various cultures from the Idaho Office of Refugee Speakers Bureau, local mosques, synagogues, disabled and deaf communities, Native American tribes, and people of various ages and beliefs. This is an opportunity to bring people together through mutual respect by embracing the dignity of various lived experiences, to promote connection and understanding between cultures.

One Stone Experience Day is an opportunity for prospective students to step inside our community and see what learning looks like here. Students will meet current One Stone learners, explore our studios, dive into real design thinking projects, and experience what a day in the life of a One Stone student is like.
Lunch will be provided, and students are invited to come as they are — bringing curiosity and an open mind. Our parking lot is located right in front of the building, making drop-off easy for families.
Parents are welcome to join an optional Q&A session following the event to learn more and ask questions.
Thursday, April 16th starting at 11am and ending at π (pi) as we like to say at One Stone!
