Ceramics teach a number of a valuable skills, including perseverance, patience, problem solving, and creativity! Bring your kiddos in to come and play with clay and learn how to use this fun medium to create functional and decorative pieces.
We'll alternate between learning the basics of handbuilding, wheel throwing, and glazing each week, so sign your kids up for multiple sessions to give them the full experience! Each student will proudly come out of class with at least one or two ceramic pieces that they built themselves. Ceramic artists and experienced teachers, Mindy Curran & Ben Alexander, will facilitate this class.
History can be shared through stories that are passed down, often from family member to family member, sometimes over hundreds of years. Join us at the Idaho State Museum as we learn about stories in Idaho that have been passed down through the years and create a storytelling craft that will help you tell your own family’s stories to future generations.
Drop in anytime between 12-3pm. All ages are welcome, and the event is free with museum admission!
This is an ongoing event every second Saturday of the month. Enjoy your visit? Consider becoming a member at the Idaho State Historical Society and enjoy access to the Idaho State Museum and other amenities. Learn more at https://history.idaho.gov/membership/.
