This ongoing class is designed for entry-level and experienced students alike, looking for more practice time on the pottery wheel. Experienced clay instructor, Casey Gurr, will offer guided, small-group instruction for anyone interested in learning the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. More advanced students are welcome to use this time to practice what they already know and try new tricks! After creating about 1-3 pieces, we will dry and fire their pieces for them. Most pieces are ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks.
Start your evening off by grabbing a drink and exploring the zoo after hours. Starting at 7PM, top improv comedians will take the stage and have you laughing with an animal-themed improv comedy show that is completely made up on the spot based upon audience suggestions. Expect PG-13 comedy not recommended for audiences younger than 13.
Food, beer, wine, and other drinks will be available for purchase.
100% of ticket proceeds contribute to improvements at the zoo, which helps support conservation.There is a limited capacity, so get your tickets early.

We are so thrilled to announce our returning to Lloyd Square Park in the heart of Downtown Nampa for the 37th season at the multi-award winning Nampa Farmers Market! EverySaturday from 9am until 130pm, Rain or Shine, april through November, we'll be here to bring you the best music, the best local produce, and the best locally made goods the Treasure Valley has to offer! With over 270 vendors on our roster in 2025, and Online Ordering Year Round, we anticipate our 2026 season to bring even more incredible local artisans, food vendors, craft vendors, farmers, or ranchers. Our Soft Opening is April 4, Grand Opening is April 18, and we'll be open later hours duing our WInter Wonderland for the entire month of November. Ceramics teach a number of a valuable skills, including perseverance, patience, problem solving, and creativity! Bring your kiddos in to come and play with clay and learn how to use this fun medium to create functional and decorative pieces.
We'll alternate between learning the basics of handbuilding, wheel throwing, and glazing each week, so sign your kids up for multiple sessions to give them the full experience! Each student will proudly come out of class with at least one or two ceramic pieces that they built themselves. Ceramic artists and experienced teachers, Mindy Curran & Ben Alexander, will facilitate this class.

Gather up your friends and family for a self-guided biking quest along the Garden City Greenbelt and explore a lesser-known stretch of this beautiful river corridor!Park in the Boise Hawks Stadium parking lot and check in at our education station between 10-11:30 a.m. to get your map. Along your 3-mile greenbelt journey, you'll discover interactive stops hosted by community partners from 10 a.m.-noon, where you'll learn about the Boise River ecosystem, local wildlife, and how the greenbelt supports healthy transportation choices. The quest encourages biking as a way to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature, and get around our community sustainably.The journey will conclude at The WaterShed, where families can celebrate completing the quest and continue learning through hands-on activities.This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to explore, learn, and move together while gaining a deeper appreciation for the Boise River and the role active transportation plays in our region!

The 7th Annual Boise Corgi Fest returns to Expo Idaho on May 31, 2026, with an adventurous new theme, "We’re Going on a Sniffari." This community-driven celebration features the legendary corgi derby and safari-themed costume contests, showcasing the valley's most intrepid short-legged explorers. All proceeds from the day benefit local animal rescues, making it a wild way to support a great cause while enjoying the stumpiest safari in Idaho!

The Astro Adventures camp is dedicated to cultivating camper’s innate curiosity about space science and exploration of the cosmos. Through hands-on activities, group challenges, and engaging presentations tailored to address Idaho State Science Standards, campers will learn how astronomy connects the everyday to everything, the commonplace to outer space. Campers will also learn about the role Idaho has played and continues to play in NASA-supported efforts to explore other worlds.
