Channel your inner Lewis & Clark and discover the wonders of Idaho’s native plants on our November Homeschool Day, where hands-on activities bring science and nature to life. Families will explore, learn, and create together while gaining a deeper appreciation and knowledge for the plants and flowers that make Idaho unique. Enjoy hands-on activities like making your own tree cookie ornament or bookmark with pressed flowers, complete a museum gallery activity, and more!

To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, we are implementing timed entry ticketing. Please select an arrival time between 10:00am – 3:00pm. Everyone will have until 3:00 PM to participate in the classroom activity.

Admission is $4 per student (Youth 2 and up), and adults/teachers are $5 in a 1:1 ratio, any additional adults must pay regular admission. ISHS Members are free. Preregistration is required. Payment is due at the time of reservation and is non-refundable.

Calling all junior engineers ages 9-12! Put your creative problem-solving skills to the test as you build, repair, and innovate solutions to real-world challenges. Each session brings new hands-on projects and engineering adventures.

Wintry Market is Idaho’s premier curated Winter maker’s market showcasing the best of art, craft and design. This event is an upscale and inventive indie art/craft show in Boise every November recently named the best holiday bazaar in Idaho by Food & Wine magazine and one of the best in the West by Sunset magazine. Wintry Market consists of innovative and original items produced using traditional art/craft methods by 175 regional artists & crafters. For 14 years we have prided ourselves as being an affordable marketplace for one-of-a-kind goods. Event takes place at Langroise Hall next to Jewett Auditorium on the College of Idaho Campus

This ongoing class is designed for entry-level and experienced students alike, looking for more practice time on the pottery wheel. Experienced clay instructor, Casey Gurr, will offer guided, small-group instruction for anyone interested in learning the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. More advanced students are welcome to use this time to practice what they already know and try new tricks! After creating about 1-3 pieces, we will dry and fire their pieces for them. Most pieces are ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks.

Ceramics teach a number of valuable skills, including perseverance, patience, problem solving, and creativity! Bring your kiddos in to come play on the clay wheel and learn how to use this fun tool to create functional and decorative pieces, or join in on the fun and make some ceramic pieces of your own! The whole family is welcome!
