Boise will continue to fly a pride flag in front of city hall, despite threats from the Attorney General. On Tuesday, Raúl Labrador urged Mayor Lauren McLean to comply with House Bill 96, which prohibits non-official flags from being displayed on governmental property. On Wednesday, the city responded.

The president of a newly formed nonprofit honoring an Ada County Sheriff’s deputy killed in the line of duty last year has an extensive criminal record and multiple accusations of refusing to pay debts.

On Tuesday evening, two deputies with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office shot and killed a suspect at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex in northwest Boise.

Deputy Tobin Bolter, a seven-year law enforcement veteran, had been with the county since January. The suspect in the shooting was found later Saturday evening and died after being shot by Boise Police as they attempted to apprehend him.

Ada County Commissioners are considering spending $13.3 million to renovate the kitchen at the Ada County jail, and begin preparations on the land next to the jail for future large-scale expansion.
