Are you excited for this year’s Winter Olympics?
As the world turns its attention to the upcoming games in Italy, we’re taking a moment to look back at Idaho’s own Olympic legacy. From Gretchen Fraser’s historic Alpine skiing victory to Paralympian Muffy Davis’s medal wins in handcycling and Alpine skiing, the Gem State has produced remarkable athletes who’ve left their mark. Idaho’s Olympic connections go beyond its athletes. From hosting the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Boise, to playing a role in the Winter Olympics of the 1960s, Idaho has long been part of the Olympic story.
Drop in anytime between 12-3pm. All ages are welcome, and the event is free with museum admission!
This is an ongoing event every second Saturday of the month. Enjoy your visit? Consider becoming a member at the Idaho State Historical Society and enjoy access to the Idaho State Museum and other amenities. Learn more at https://history.idaho.gov/membership/.
