Tree City Chamber Players presents βWinter Serenades,β chamber music works for flute, oboe, violin and piano by Mozart, Beethoven, Kenji Bunch, and more.
The program will also feature short works for solo piano composed and performed by TCCP pianist Chad Spears. Two Boise performances: Saturday January 10, 3PM, at Red Rock Christian Church (1124 S. Roosevelt St.) and Sunday January 11, 3PM, at Southminster Presbyterian Church (6500 W. Overland Rd.). Donations are welcome at the door. Suggested donations: $25/adult, $15 senior/student, children under 12 are free. We will be donating 10% of proceeds from these concerts to Idaho Concerts in Care, whose vision is to provide professional quality concerts to as many residents in care homes as possible in the Treasure Valley with a scope to expand throughout Idaho.

Join us for a community celebration marking Minidoka National Historic Siteβs 25th anniversary as a unit of the National Park Serviceβhonoring its vital role in teaching the lessons of the unjust WWII incarceration of Japanese Americans.
The evening features a performance by Sangha Taiko, a Japanese American drumming group sponsored by the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple in Ontario, Oregon, where many people unjustly incarcerated at Minidoka resettled after camp, a special recognition of Neil King, Minidokaβs first NPS superintendent, the premiere of the short film βMinidokaβ by artist and musician Kishi Bashi and filmmaker Justin Taylor-Smith with new original compositions, and a live performance by Kishi Bashi.

BPYO seniors join in a performance of the late David Alan Earnestβs thrilling overture Turbulence before Boise Philβs Principal Cellist Philip Kettler takes center stage for Saint-SaΓ«nsβ evocative and technically stunning Concerto for Cello No. 1. Then, Ravel pays homage to the Baroque era and two friends lost in World War I in Le Tombeau de Couperin. The evening closes with charm and romanticism of a Viennese world in Straussβ Der Rosenkavalier Suite.
