Crafty Kids: DIY Chia Pets

We are making our very own Chia Pets! Learn about the process of plant growth, personalize and create a face for your botanical buddy then bring them home and watch their grassy hair grow!

Ahren Belisle is a software engineer and mental health advocate turned comedian. Born in Northern Ontario with cerebral palsy, Ahren is a mute comedian who uses his phone to deliver jokes. Gear up for a whirlwind of fun with our energetic storytime! It's a perfect blend of captivating stories, toe-tapping tunes, groovy moves, and loads of learning! After storytime we will dive into 30 minutes of open play.

Learn how to create a beautiful water-wise landscape this spring with tips on how to convert and maintain a sustainable yard at this free workshop. We’ll talk about removing turf grass, design & plant placement, converting irrigation systems, safe weed & pest management, and much more. Hosted by Ada SWCD and The WaterShed on Thursday, May 1 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Cole and Ustick library.
